How to Set Java Location for Instant Messaging Server After Upgrading Java ?
(Doc ID 2485434.1)
Last updated on MARCH 25, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Instant Messaging Server - Version 10.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
As per the documentation on Upgrading Instant Messaging (IM) Server here,
Step 11. Install Java 8 and point the Java 8 installation directory to the /usr/jdk/latest directory.
Does this mean that Java can be installed wherever we want and then create a soft link ? For example, say install Java under '/ocs/app/java' so that it is not under the control of Solaris/Java patches.
Or, can we change a classpath using imadmin and point that to a Java location ?
