Unable To Stop Rel_daemon Gracefully (Doc ID 2488345.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.17.0 to 12.0.0.0.0 [Release 7.5.0 to 12.0.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 7.5.0.17.0 version, Event Management

Currently, as part of out-of-box(OOB) scripts, stop_rel script kills the rel_daemon process abruptly. During abrupt stop, if it is processing a file, it will cause problems like partial loading and needs manual intervention to correct the rejected Rated Event Loader(REL) files.

In general, BRM production operations group expects no intervention while normal stop and start is executed for rel_daemon.

One needs a way to gracefully stop the REL process using OOB script so that no reject files or partial loads situation can happen on BRM production instance.
