Goal

Information needed for ILM table partitioning for Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management 2.2.0.3.0.

For a new MDM database while reviewing MDM DBA Guide, in Appendix A and other locations of this documents, there are sample scripts for reference. Throughout sample scripts, it demonstrated the sub-partition and index partition on the PK column as below for the parent tables, which were all for data type CHAR (14).

The DBA Guide listed all 21 parent tables from ILM modules and most of them are CHAR (14), but there are also 1 of them VARCHAR2 (30), three of them CHAR (12).

(1) Can I assume the data pattern of all of these 21 parent PK Column IDs are digit format like demonstrated in the sample scripts
(2) For CHAR (12) and VARCHAR(30) may I accordingly adjust the number of the digit by removing two “99”s from the end of the pattern for CHAR(12), and add additional sixteen “9999999999999999” at the end for VARCHAR(30)?
