Error 'ORA-00942: table or view does not exist' and Schema Validation Fails on 'Building Schema Document From Database' Step (Doc ID 2526744.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to run the validate.bat (/.sh) database schema validation tool, the following error occurs:

Error in Building schema document from database: SQLSyntaxErrorException (ORA-00942: table or view does not exist)

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Launch the validate.bat (/.sh) utility.
  2. Enter the database connection information then click Next.
  3. The Schema Validation process fails with the reported error.
