Error "Error Setting Java_Home variable for P6Suite…" When Attempting to Install P6 EPPM (Doc ID 2531321.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to install P6 EPPM, when specifying the JDK Home the following error occurs.

Error Setting Java_Home variable for P6Suite...

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Launch the Oracle Universal Installer for EPPM.
  2. During the installation process, a field for the the JAVA JDK location is displayed. 
  3. Click the Browse [...] button to navigate to and select the Java JDK installation directory.
  4. Select Next.
  5. The reported error occurs.
