Usage Period Is Not Getting All Reads Into Consideration (Doc ID 2548171.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management - Version 2.1.0.3 to 2.1.0.3 [Release 2.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Usage Period is not getting all reads into consideration.

When 2 get scalar usage rules are configured on usage group with different usage UOM/TOU/SQI combination, UT is successfully calculating usage for all matching measuring components. However, usage period start date time is calculated based on the first measuring component’s measurements though there are measurements with date time prior to that from subsequence MCs.

Subscription has 2 SPs:

Subscription uses two usage rules

UT has complete scalar reads, however, the usage period start and end dates has an issue. Resulting UT period date: 08/09/2018 - 09/05/2018 though UT has usage from 08/06/2018.

Steps to Recreate

  1. Create a usage group and create 2 get scalar usage rules on the usage group. First Get Scalar usage rule should have UOM/TOU/SQI combination as KWH (UOM) / Delivered (SQI). The second usage rule should have UOM/TOU/SQI as KWH (UOM).
  2. Create a device, device configuration, scalar register measuring component with UOM as KWH and service point.
  3. Install the device on the service point with installation date as 01-01-2000 12:00 AM.
  4. Create regular measurements on scalar measuring component for following dates.
    1. End Date Time: 08-01-2018 12:00 AM – Reading: 0
    2. End Date Time: 08-06-2018 11:40 AM – Reading: 786
    3. End Date Time: 09-05-2018 11:28 AM – Reading: 1335
  5. Create a device, device configuration, scalar register measuring component with UOM as KWH and service point.
  6. Install the device on the service point with installation date as 01-01-2000 12:00 AM
  7. Create regular measurements on scalar measuring component for following dates.
    1. End Date Time: 08-01-2018 12:00 AM – Reading: 0
    2. End Date Time: 08-06-2018 11:40 AM – Reading: 7
    3. End Date Time: 08-09-2018 02:27 PM – Reading: 7
  8. Remove the meter from the service point with removal date time as 08-09-2018 2:27 PM.
  9. Create a device, device configuration, scalar register measuring component with UOM as KWH and SQI as Delivered.
  10. Install this device at above created service point with installation date as 08-09-2018 2:28 PM.
  11. Create regular measurements on scalar measuring component for following dates.
    1. End Date Time: 08-09-2018 2:28 PM – Reading: 0
    2. End Date Time: 09-05-2018 11:29 AM – Reading: 100
  12. Create a usage subscription and configure above created service points and usage group.
  13. Create a usage transaction with following details.
    1. Interval Measuring Component
      1. Start Date Time: 08-06-2018 12:00 AM
      2. End Date Time – From: 09-05-2018 12:00 AM
      3. End Date Time – To: 09-05-2018 12:00 AM
    2. Scalar Measuring Component
      1. Start Date Time: 08-06-2018 12:00 AM
      2. End Date Time – From: 09-05-2018 12:00 AM
      3. End Date Time – To: 09-05-2018 11:59 PM
      4. End Range Option: Specified
      5. Allow Estimate: Do Not Allow Estimates
  14. Usage Transaction will successfully calculate the usage for all the 3 measuring components. However, the start date time of usage period is incorrect. It should be 08-06-2018 11:40 AM instead of 08-09-2018 2:28 PM.
