Active VWS Stops Processing Realtime Traffic when Standby VWS is Started (Doc ID 2632040.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 28, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On all versions of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC), when (re-)starting a Voucher Wallet Server (VWS), the primary VWS node appears to stop processing real-time traffic.

As a result, the Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE) event queues build up on the VWS and sessions time out as the beVWARS processes do not process and respond to them fast enough.

This problem happens if there is a long time period between these 2 lines in the affected beVWARS log file:

Jul 23 10:40:21.982358 beVWARS(16911) NOTICE: VWARS 9: Finished obtaining all contexts from beServer(s)
Jul 23 10:42:00.803924 beVWARS(16911) NOTICE: VWARS 9: Finished sending all reservations to beSync

In this example, there is a ~1m39s period where real time events were not being processed as fast as they were arriving.
