XML Export Fails with Error: "SQL Server did not return a response. The connection has been closed" (Doc ID 2642854.1)

Symptoms

XML export fails from P6 Professional client with the following error:

ERROR

com.primavera.PhoenixException: Unable to resolve privileged username and password
The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "SQL Server did not return a response. The connection has been closed."

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to P6 Professional.
2. Export XML
3. Export fails with error in the logs.
