Imcheck Switches For Checking Elastic Search (Doc ID 2651999.1)

Last updated on JUNE 16, 2020

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Using the "imcheck -m" command seems like a strange place for checking Elastic.

In KM documents 2630186.1 and 2416387.1, it was explained that the way to check if the Elastic Search service is up to date, and initiate resync if it is not, is by performing "imcheck -m user//".

"Imcheck -m" is occasionally used to check various things.
Adding this functionality to "imcheck -m" means those other uses will now also incur this extra delay and load on the Elastic Search service.

Could a new switch be created for imcheck? For example, maybe a different switch in addition to -m? i.e. to not have it check elastic as a hidden over-header in the normal reporting function?

In summary:

* A switch to suppress (possibly summarize) the warnings.
* And ... wildcards, to be able to do multiple users/folders.
* And a -n switch to report, but not initiate a repair.

* And a switch for imcheck to cause it to check with Elastic Search.
