Pin_collections_process Performance is Slow

Symptoms
On a production system, it is observed that pin_collections_process is having performance issue because there are some out of box SQL statements (to perform search operations) that are using literals instead of bind variables resulting in millions of hard parses.
The expectation is that these identified SQL statements should be using bind variables.
