On : 12.0.0.1.0 version, Core Billing
Bill numbers are wasted every month for quarterly billing customers. When pin_bill_accts utility is executed with billing segment parameter to execute billing for monthly & quarterly customers every month. Though the billing for quarterly customers will be finalized every quarter, pin_bill_accts utility is picking the quarterly bill info objects for accounting cycle updates every month and assigning a new bill number to it. The bill number assigned during non-billing month are wasted.
How to avoid wasting bill numbers for quarterly bill info objects?
