Data Model Rename Fails with "The specified Name already exists" Error
(Doc ID 2734174.1)
Last updated on JULY 13, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Life Sciences Data Management Workbench - Version 2.5.2 to 2.5.2 [Release 2.5.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On Oracle Life Sciences Data Management Workbench (DMW) 2.5.2, when attempting to rename a Data Model, the following error is generated:
"DMW-###: The specified Name already exists, Please specify a different name"
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a data model (e.g. DM_NAME). Enter all the necessary information including Business Area (BA), and then click on OK.
2. The system says that a BA name like "DM_NAME" cannot be created. So, click "Cancel" because of the BA error.
3. Click on the create data model tab again and enter all the information once more, but this time change the BA name by adding the study number at the end e.g. BA_DM_NAME<ID>. Click OK.
Instead of the "DM_NAME" model "DM_NAME_1" is created. Although not visible in DMW, the model "DM_NAME" exists on the back end with the status "Non-installable".
