Convergence Problem With Non-Ascii Characters In the TO, CC, BCC Fields (Doc ID 2777686.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 8.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

"Reply to all" from Convergence does not work when a CC-person's Display Name has non-Ascii characters and a comma in it.

E.g.

An address like:

When the message is initially sent by a third party Mail User Agent, it is encoded  according to the RFC 1342 because it contains non-Ascii characters . So the original message will be accepted by the Messaging Server without errors, even if it contains a Display Name with a comma and not encompassed by double quotes.

When a Convergence client will "reply" or "reply to all", all the addresses that have a comma and are not double quoted will error out.
