Notes Not Displayed in Date Entered Order on Service Request Search Window Notes Tab (Doc ID 2777919.1)

Last updated on JULY 05, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When viewing an order's notes on the Notes tab of the Service Request Search window (w_query_monster_sheet), the records are not sorted in ascending order by the date it was entered. They appear to be sorted by their NOTES_SEQUENCE values which results in the notes not being displayed in logical order. When viewed through the "Service Request Notes window (w_ordering_notes_list), the notes are sorted properly in ascending order by the date it was entered.

Additional Information

When reviewing a problem note entry example in the database's ASAP.NOTES table, the affected record had a lower NOTES_ID and NOTES_SEQUENCE value than the surrounding notes related to the order. This most likely occurred due to the row being created in a different node of the Oracle RAC database than the other notes. The expected behavior is notes sorted in ascending order by the date it was entered (DATE_ENTERED) wherever they are displayed in the application.
