(Doc ID 2778582.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Infrastructure - Version 8.1.0.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)
Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Infrastructure (OFSAAI / AAI)
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
Goal
When configuring OFSAAI on RAC database, the documentation suggests "Active GridLink" or "Multiple Data Source".
Has this changed with the new 8.1 version? Is the recommendation to always choose one of the two over choosing "Generic" for RAC database? What would the reason be for not choosing "Generic"?
When configuring "Active GridLink", the Database Driver should never be "XA", however there are two other types to choose from. Which one should be chosen?
1. Oracle's Driver (Thin) for GridLink Application Continuity Connections; Versions: Any
or
2. Oracle's Driver (This) for GridLink Connections; Versions: Any
Is the best practice to use GridLink?
Also, is there a preferred configuration for RAC database when an Oracle Wallet is used for both secure and no password required connections (GridLink or Generic)?
