Error: 'Could not open JPA EntityManager for transaction' When Attempting to Open Team Member (Doc ID 2785462.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to login to Team Member the following error occurs.

Could not open JPA EntityManager for transaction; nested exception is javax.persistence.PersistenceException: java.lang.NullPointerException

The following error is also available in the log.

Failed creating datasource for jdbc
thin:@<server name>:<port>:<database name>

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Browse to the P6 Team Member Webpage.
  2. Try to login with P6 user credentials.
  3. View the reported error.
