Can PARTITION_MIGRATE Partition Be Split In Multiple Monthly Partitions? (Doc ID 2788416.1)

Last updated on JUNE 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 12.0.0.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) 12.0.0.3.0, when enabling partitioning by converting non-partitioned storable classes (such as item_t, bill_t and even_t) to partitioned storable classes AFTER BRM installation, real-time partitioned tables were split into three partitions:

- partition_migrate

- partition_historic

- partition_last

Currently partition_migrate partition holds all event objects created before the conversion, from 2018 to 2021, so it's huge.

Customer is concerned about performance in querying data in this partition, so is considering the option to spilt this partition by month.

Is it ok from BRM perspective to do this?

Is there any BRM application/utility to perform this action?
