Change in Bill Number Format Between BRM 7.5 and 12 Releases
(Doc ID 2863757.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 12.0.0.4.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
It is noticed that the Trial Bill No generated on BRM 12 Release uses Billinfo POID and End Date and not Bill POID as in BRM 7.5 Release.
While executing pin_trial_bill_accts utility or PCM_OP_BILL_MAKE_TRIAL_BILL, it is found that BRM is no longer using BILL POID to generate trial bill number(TRIAL-BILLPOID). Instead, it uses BILLINFOPOID and
END_T(TRIAL-BILLINFOPOIDEND_T).
It is known that we can make use of PCM_OP_BILL_POL_SPEC_BILLNO to customize bill numbers.
However, the question here is related to out-of-the-box change wherein BRM 7.5 Release, the BILL NO is generated as TRIAL-{bill poid}, but in BRM 12 Release, it is generated as TRIAL-{arbillinfopoid-endt}, and this change isn't documented anywhere.
