Goal

Does imapd call getvmusage?

A related issue (with the Solaris performance team) found that prstat was much slower than expected -- which caused guds to take much longer than expected -- because prstat was contending for a lock with imapd processes calling getvmusage().

A brief "truss -t getvmusage" was performed on an imapd process and no locks were observed.
This resulted in questions regarding the conclusion that prstat is contending with imapd calling getvmusage.

Is there any case where imapd would call getvmusage?

The related issue is serious because, as it stands now, if a hardware failure were to occur at the primary site for one of our mail clusters, we would need to use DR because it seems we are unable to run both applications on a single physical system.
