TSF Shipment Messages Fails In The RIB-RMS Consumer When SIM Creates New Container During Receipt (Doc ID 2876871.1)

Last updated on JUNE 20, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

While receiving a transfer in SIM, the user noticed that in the system one of the items belonged to the existent container but physically, it was received in another container that was not part of the transfer/shipment. So, the user has received 0 units in the existing container and created a new one to receive all the units of that item. In SIM everything was processed successfully but the information did not reach RMS because the message that contains the new container got stuck in RMS hospital (RIB_MESSAGE) with the following error:

ERROR
-----------------------
Caused by: com.retek.rib.binding.exception.RIBIntegrationException: Exception while processing request: Error from {call RMSSUB_RECEIVING.CONSUME(?,?,?,?,?,?)}: [E] No cartons exist for this shipment. - Nested exception: - com.retek.rib.collab.RibAPIException: Error from {call RMSSUB_RECEIVING.CONSUME(?,?,?,?,?,?)}: [E] No cartons exist for this shipment.
As the container/carton does not exist for this shipment in RMS, the message is failing in RMS hospital.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Enter SIM
2. Enter the Shipping and Receiving screen
3. Select Transfer Receipt
