Symptoms
When attempting to select the Backward Activity Critical Path operation, P6 Professional enters a non-responding state and slowly increases in memory usage until the operation fails with the following errors:
Your system is out of memory. Please close the other running applications and try this operation again.
Exception EOutOfMemory in module PM.EXE at 0000000000009154. Out of memory.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Open a project.
- Select an activity near the end of the schedule.
- Select the View > "Backward Activity Path" operation.
