The Channel Statistic Example Provided Needs Clarification and Correction (Doc ID 2887091.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter Base - Version 2.8.0.0.0 and later
Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management - Version 2.4.0.0.0 to 2.5.0.0.0 [Release 2.4 to 2.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Using an example that exists in the demo data, there is MC Type "Electric Channel Statistics - Same Month Last Year" which has the following parameters:

Period End Lag Days - 365
Period Start Lag Days - 395
Current date = 5/18/2022

Due to the help text regarding this example, we used to expect the following range
Expected end date is 5/18/2022 - 365 days = 5/18/2021
Expected start date is 5/18/2022 - 395 days = 4/18/2021

However, when the statistics are calculated, the actual end date is 5/18/2021 but the actual start date seems to be calculated by taking the calculated end date
and subtracting the Period Start Lag Days parameter:  5/18/2021 - 395 = 4/18/2020.

Then the statistics are calculated for 13 full months:  04/18/2020 - 05/18/2021.
