P6 Professional Batch Report Process Not Writing To The Log File (Doc ID 2891394.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 23, 2022

Applies to:

Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 20.12.10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Issue 1:

When running the batch report process from a batch script, the log file is not being created.

Issue 2:

If the log file already exists and a project listed in the actions file does not exist in the database, an entry noting the missing project is not written to the file.

Issue 3:

If the log file already exists and a duplicate project is specified in the actions file, an entry noting the duplicate is not written to the log file.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The log file should be created\updated and entries should be added when issues occur during the run. All other valid entries in the actions file should complete as they did in releases previous to 20.12.10.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Attempt to run a batch report from a command line using the batch script process.
  2. Note the log file is not created or not being written too.
