Symptoms

When attempting to use P6 EPPM Web Services to export a project, the following error occurs:

com.primavera.ws.importexport.WSExportProvider> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '10' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <> <> <[severity-value: 8] [rid: 0] [partition-id: 0] [partition-name: DOMAIN] > com.primavera.ws.p6.export.IntegrationFault
Caused By: java.lang.NullPointerException

The issue can be reproduced using the following steps:

  1. In P6, create a P6 project.
  2. Assign the OBS of the project to a non-admin-superuser account with Web Services Module Access.
  3. Find and store the Object Id of the project.
  4. Replace the ProjectObjectId in the P6 Web Service call.
  5. Replace the user name/password and database instance information in the P6 Web Service call.
  6. Find and store the needed Web Service WSDL (example https://wsdemo.client_name.com/p6ws/services/ExportService?wsdl).
  7. Use a Web Service client to execute the P6 Web Service call (for example SoapUI).
  8. Note the error message being returned with a generic error code 0.
