Duplicate HCPGRULE Error When Updating Pricing Rules Via Business Object

Symptoms
On RMB v2.9.0.0.0, Duplicate HCPGRULE error for updating pricing rules via business object.
When updating Pricing Rule with Pricing Group associated using business object instance, the base code is throwing Duplicate HCPGRULE error.
We observe the Error thrown is the price assignment Id. We expect Retention Enrollment Based Pricing Rule’s end date should be updated instead of this error.
STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Note: In this replication step, we’re using the retention enrollment pricing rule business object but note that this error is encountered in all pricing rules with pricing group associated to it.
1. Create a customer with pricing group
2. Create Retention Enrollment Based Pricing Rule and associate it to the pricing group and WITHOUT Pricing rule END DATE.
3. Update the batch code’s pricing rule Id to your pricing rule Id
4. Run the batch
5. Error throws “Duplicate HCPGRULE”
