The Attribute in bal_impact_t Table Is Not Getting Set and Giving Immutable Issue (Doc ID 2906832.1)

Last updated on APRIL 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Pricing Design Center - Version 12.0.0.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This issue on ECE is related to GL ID assignment in the discount offer.

In the older versions of BRM 7 (such as 7.3), the discount offer used to get set with the GL of the charge offer.

For example:

If the charge offer has GL ID set to '1234567', then the same gets set in the discount offer also.

However, the same doesn't work in BRM/ECE version 12.

In BRM 12, the discount offer is not getting set with GL ID of the charge offer.

The impact of this is that the discount is not getting allocated correctly in the GL.

This would result in customized attempts being made such as trying to set the same GL ID via the Post rating (POST_RATING) hook.

Such an attempt to modify metadata from the pricing side resulted in not setting the value in the database in the bal_impact_t table from Elastic Charging Engine (ECE). The error is that the field is immutable as defined in the Pricing Design Center (PDC).
