Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 12.0.0.5.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) 12.0.0.5.0 version, Core Billing
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
While generating trial bill for Oct cycle, it is observed that some of the charges belonging to Nov cycle are also included in the total amount due of the Oct cycle.
But the events queried by each child account during invoicing do not include these charges. So when the customer aggregate all the events and compare with the total amount calculated by BRM, it appears they are off by these Nov cycle charges.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The expectation is that these Nov cycle charges should not be included in the total due amount of Oct.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create parent account with PVT 2nd Oct and account effective date 1st Oct
2. Create subordinate account 1 with PVT 2nd Oct and account effective date 1st Oct along with a cycle forward product of $55
3. Create subordinate account 2 with PVT 31st Oct and account effective date 31st Oct along with a cycle forward product of $55 which prorates to $1.77
4. Create subordinate account 3 with PVT 31st Oct and account effective date 1st Nov along with a cycle forward product of $55
5. Execute pin_update_journals -verbose with PVT 2nd Nov
6. Execute child and parent trial billing with PVT 2nd Nov using the following commands
pin_trial_bill_accts -pay_type 10007 -start 10/28/22 -end 11/02/22 -verbose
pin_trial_bill_accts -pay_type 10001 -start 10/28/22 -end 11/02/22 -verbose
This issue was not observed before because initially all the subordinate accounts irrespective of their cycle dates. So due amount matches with all the child charges. But now the future cycle subordinates are excluded while billing but the due amount has not excluded that child charge
