OPW-00029 Error Occurs While Installing Agile 9.3.6 Database on Oracle Database 19c (Doc ID 2924383.1)

Symptoms

Try to install Agile 9.3.6 database schema to Oracle Database 19c, and it fails with OPW-00029 error as below after entering SYS user password without the special character.

Error

{Database_Home}\bin\oradim -new -sid {sid} -intpwd {password} -startmode manual -pfile "{path}\{sid}\pfile\init{sid}.ora
Enter password for Oracle service user:

OPW-00029: Password complexity failed for SYS user : Password must contain 1 special character instance created.
Instance created.


When attempting to install Agile 9.3.6 database schema to Oracle Database 19c, unable to proceed with installation after entering SYS user password with the special character with below popup message:

Severe:
Please do not enter special character


Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run agile9360db_oracle.exe with administrator privilege.
  2. Follow the instruction in the installer, when prompted for sys user password, enter password without the special character.
  3. When prompted "Ready to create the Agile PLM database. Click 'Next' to continue.", click Next.
  4. Command prompt window shows up, and prompts to enter Password for Oracle Service user.
  5. Input password, and Enter.
  6. Gets error: "OPW-00029: Password complexity failed for SYS user : Password must contain 1 special character instance created." in the command line.
  7. Rerun agile9360db_oracle.exe with administrator privilege.
  8. Follow the instruction in the installer, when prompted for sys user password, enter password with the special character, and Next.
  9. Below message pops up:
    Severe:
    Please do not enter special character
