ALM 8.1.2: "Save Failed" Error while Saving Application Preference (Doc ID 2932418.1)

Symptoms

On an integrated ENV having ALM and LRM 8.1.2 while saving the ALM Application Preference you get "Save Failed" UI error:

 

Additionally the following error can be found in fsapps.log:

Changes

 Issue is only happening on integrated ALM/LRM 8.1.2 environment.
