How to Alter or Disable the Messaging Manager Redirection Port (Doc ID 2932874.1)

Last updated on APRIL 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.0 and later
Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On all version of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C or 3C), Messaging Manager (MM) has a feature where a specific socket on a single Service Logic Controller (SLC)/MM instance, is nominated as the redirection port for re-assembling multi-part messages should content filtering be necessary.

This is so that if a single segment of a multi-part message contains blocked content, MM will not attempt delivery of the other segments.

If the redirection SLC/MM instance is unreachable for whatever reason, xmsTrigger will log the following alarm endlessly:

Can MM be temporarily reconfigured to prevent this alarm from occurring?
