Solid Edge Save Copy As No Longer Working Correctly With Ec 3.6.4.1 (Doc ID 2938072.1)

Last updated on MARCH 28, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector - Version 3.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Solid Edge has a Save Copy As command that is similar to the Save As command except when used when in place editing an assembly component, it does not change the active document to the new copy and it does not replace the component in the assembly with the new copy like Save As does.  This worked previously in 3.6.3 but seems to revert back to a Solid Edge Save As function after the Agile EC Save form completes.

What is working:
Save As command works when used when in place editing an assembly component.

Expected behavior:
Save Copy As command is not working.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Select component and select Edit In Place button in command bar that appears on screen.
2. Select command "Save Copy As" and the Agile "Save" dialog will appear.  Assign ID and save.
3. Note that the active document will now be the new copy.
4. Close it and Return to the assembly and note that the component has been replaced with the new copy.
5. Perform the same process again, but instead of using the Agile EC Save, select the Native button to continue with the Solid Edge native command.
6. Note that the active document is NOT the new copy.
7. Close and Return to the assembly and note that the component was NOT replaced with the new copy.
