Unifier Report Fails with Error "The Job Failed" When Integrated with Coldfusion and Microsoft SQL Server (Doc ID 2946168.1)

When attempting to run a scheduled report integrated with Microsoft SQL Server and Coldfusion, the following error occurs:

The job failed. The job was invoked by 'report name' (unifier_job) the last step to run was step 1 (unifier)

A job step received an error at line in a PowerShell script. The corresponding line is ' $out = Invoke-WebRequest $uri -Method post -ContentType 'text/xml' -Body $SOAP -Headers $headers -usebasicparsing -TimeoutSec 300
'. Correct the script and reschedule the job. The error information returned by PowerShell is: 'The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.'

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Open Microsoft SQL Server.
  2. Navigate to the job history.
  3. Observe the error messages.
