Symptoms

Self-hosted Unifier, in Unifier Configurator Email Tab, with the correct inbound e-mail account and password, the test connection successful.

But the test fails when testing the 'Receive email' function in the bluedoor Diagnostics node. The following error occurs in start server log:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. The administrator sets the inbound e-mail server with the correct username and password in the Unifier Configurator
  2. The Test inbound e-mail connection shows successful
  3. Start the Unifier server with this new ear file deployed successfully
  4. Log into Unifier bluedoor admin console > Diagnostics > Receive email
  5. The console log shows that the inbound email authentication failed with an exception.
