Symptoms

Description characteristics is not visible as a Search Filter for example for Pipe entities.
It is visible for other entities such as Connectivity, Flow Identifier or Network instead.

The customer is requesting UIM to allow Pipe Search by Description. Respectively Description field should be displayed in Search and Search Results sections.
