ACS Doesn't Allow Telephony After a playAnnouncement Timeout (Doc ID 2970474.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.0 and later
Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On all versions of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C or 3C), Advanced Control Services (ACS) does not have a specific timer for messages sent to a Specialized Resource Function (SRF) to time out potentially lost messages.

The Absent Without Leave (AWOL) feature, if enabled, is the only timer that can clean up resources left hanging due to lost messages with an SRF.

When the AWOL timer fires, an internal cleanup of all associated Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE) resources is done and the call is dropped.

Is it possible to time out messages between the Service Logic Controller (SLC) and the SRF but continue the voice call?
