Approval Password Is Auto-Filled In with Login Password on Approve When Using Chrome After Upgrading to Agile 9.3.6 RUP1 and Above
(Doc ID 2974050.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 24, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Agile Product Collaboration - Version 9.3.6.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Using Chrome with Google password manager enabled. User is configured to have different passwords for login password and approval password.
On Agile 9.3.6, when approving the change, when the cursor is set to User ID field, Google password manager will give the list of username and password.
When selecting the username from the list, both user name and approval password are filled in automatically. But the password is the login password, which is different from the approval password.
On Agile 9.3.5, only the user name was filled in automatically and the password was kept blank, and user can manually fill in the password which is different from the login password.
The expectation is that login password not to be auto filled in on approval so that user can provide the approval password.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Login to Java Client as admin user, and go to Admin tab > Server Settings > Preferences, and do the following settings:
- Signoff User Dual Identification Type=User ID
- Display User ID=No
- Click: View/Edit Current User
- From General Info tab, change the value of Use Login Password for Approval to "No", and Save.
- Click Reset password, and check on "Reset Approval Password", and set the password different from Login Password, and OK.
- Launch Chrome, and access to Web Client as admin user.
- Type in username and password.
- Save the password in google password manager.
- Create a Change, and set Workflow. When routing to Review status, add admin user as approver.
- Approve.
- Put cursor to the User ID field. See you can select the username and password from the list of google password manager.
- Select the username from the list.
- See the password field is also populated, which is the password saved upon user login.
- Approve will fail as provided password does not match the approval password.
