Information in this document applies to any platform.

Oracle Financial Services Profitability Management (PFT)

Symptoms

On 8.1.2 version, when attempting to run Allocation Rule with Expression the process gets stuck in on-going mode in the batch monitor screen and shows as failed in Allocation History.
The allocation engine log got stuck at the point where it calls REV_TABLES_V. This rule ran successfully in 8.0.7.

Error:

ofspa.log shows the process does not Exit. When a process is finished it should show Exit 0.

Allocation Engine execution started [Sun Jul 2 14:48:31 PDT 2023]
Command Line: /u01/ofsaa/ficdb/bin/ofspa <INFODOM>_227540_EXEC_20230430_25 Allocation Engine Task1 20230430 227540 <USERID>
OS: Linux
LD_LIBRARY_PATH: /u01/ofsaa/ficdb/bin/pft:/u01/ofsaa/ficdb/lib/libFSGBU:/u01/ofsaa/ficdb/conf/en_US:/u01/app/oracle/product/19.3.0/client_1/rdbms/public/:/usr/lib:/u01/app/oracle/product/19.3.0/client_1/lib:/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/opt/jdk1.8.0_361/jre/lib/amd64/server:/opt/jdk1.8.0_361/lib/server:/u01/ofsaa/ficdb/lib:/u01/app/oracle/product/19.3.0/client_1/lib:/bin:/u01/ofsaa/ficapp/icc/lib:/u01/ofsaa/ficapp/common/FICServer/lib:/u01/ofsaa/EspressReport/lib:/u01/ofsaa/ficweb/bin

Steps To Replicate:

1. Upgraded PFT 8.0.7 to 8.1.2.

2. Run Process <INFODOM>_227540_EXEC_20230430_25 Allocation Engine Task1 20230430 227540 with expression below:

Loan Commitment Contracts.Credit Risk Capital Calculation Commitment Amount
+
Loan Commitment Contracts.Market Risk Capital
+
Loan Commitment Contracts.Operational Risk Capital

3. The process keeps going.

4. Undo the process and trouble shoot the issue.
The expression in the rule has three columns mentioned from loan commitments table. Upon further checking found that this is happening only when the column Credit Risk Capital Calculation Commitment Amount is used in the expression, if it is removed from the expression, the allocation is successful. But this issue only happens when this column is used in an expression, tried running an allocation using this column directly, it ran successfully.
