"Cannot resolve foreign key for TASKPRED" When Importing Activity Relationships via Excel (Doc ID 2993842.1)

Symptoms

In P6 Professional, when exporting Activity Relationships (Predecessors and Successors) to Excel, upon import back into the same database an error occurs.


ERROR

WARNING: TASKPRED: Failed to resolve foreign key for field Activity ID with value <task_id>. Field cleared.
ERROR: TBOBasedDataManager.InsertNewObject: Cannot resolve foreign key for TASKPRED


STEPS TO REPRODUCE

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6 Pro.
  2. Open the project.
  3. Go to  File > Import.
  4. Choose Spreadsheet - (XLSX).
  5. Select the file to be imported.
  6. Choose the Activity Relationships checkbox.
  7. Select Update Existing Project and set Import To as teh open project.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Import fails with reported error.
