Getting lot of "CLOSE_WAIT" Connection for brmGateway

1082
[<HOSTNAME>]$

[<HOSTNAME>]$ netstat -anp | grep -i wait | wc -l
3030
[<HOSTNAME>]$


How it can be reduced? Here as a work around the brmGateway is restarted mostly on daily basis.
