Problem with Improved Network System Usability. Disconnected Connections Cannot be Added to Treeview or Drawing. (Doc ID 3005944.1)

Symptoms

Problem with Improved Network System Usability enhancement delivered in Patch 35633140 (6.3.1.788). Disconnected Connections cannot be added to the treeview or drawing. The application appears to do nothing when attempting to add a Disconnected Connection. However, attempting to add a Disconnected Connection immediately after an Active Connection has been added, results in a pop-up message received in the Viewing Extensions window (w_netdes_neighbor) and indicates a customer connection already exists in the treeview (see below). In our current version, 6.3.1.705.2, we are able to add both Active and Disconnected connections to the treeview or drawing.

Recreation Steps

1. Inventory Management.

2. Network Systems.

3. Search for a Network System having Customer Connection.

4. Right-click on the Network System and select "Open without Graphics". Behavior occurs when opened with graphics.

5. Right-click on the Network System name and select "Customer Connections...".

6. Select the "Disconnected Connections" radio button.

7. Highlight a connection and click the "Add to Treeview" button. Button = "Add to Drawing" when opened with graphics.

    * Note that nothing appears to have occurred (no mouse cursor activity).

8. Select the "Active Connections" radio button.

9. Highlight a connection and click the "Add to Treeview" button.

    * Note the mouse cursor activity (hourglasses, twirls, etc.) indicates something occurred.

10. Select the "Disconnected Connections" radio button again.

11. Highlight a connection and click the "Add to Treeview" button.

     * Note the pop-up message - "The customer connection (extension) already exists in the treeview." Pop-up message = "The customer connection (extension) already exists on the drawing." when opened with graphics.

 

Changes

Installed or upgraded to MetaSolv Solution version 6.3.1.788 - Patch 35633140: MSS_6_3_1_B788 (6.3.1.13.0).
