GSU Is Not Returned In The HTTPGateway ChargingData Response Towards 5G Core Network (Doc ID 3024021.1)

Last updated on MAY 22, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 12.0.0.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) 12.0.0.8.8 version, httpGateway, Cloud Native (CN) Deployment

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Granted-Service-Units (GSU) is not returned in the HTTPGateway chargingdata response.

During the 5G interface testing, after doing successful Registration, Session Management Function (SMF) sends Usage requests to httpGateway. Though ECE processed the usage request and responded successfully with GSU, it is observed that the GSU is not being send to the SMF by httpGateway. It is observed that the totalVolume is sent as null in the httpGateway response towards Network.

Sample log snippet:
--------------------------

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
httpGateway should respond with the GSU granted by ECE in the charging data response towards SMF

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. On ECE 12.0.0.8.8 Version, for a customer account having a data bundle, initiate a 5G data session from SMF via httpGateway
2. Verify if ECE has responded with GSU (as per the requestedUnits or Reservation configuration) as expected.
3. Check if the GSU is properly passed or set as null in the Usage response sent by httpGateway towards SMF
