Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 7.5.1.0.0 version, IP Assignment

Currently UIM allows  assignment of a resource on the broad-cast IP. Its expected that it shouldn't do so as assigning resources on broadcast IP spikes utilization percentage of the sub-net.

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1-User created a new IP n/w and subnet with "Global IP Address Domain"

  IP /30
     IP .1
     IP .2
     IP .3

2-Assigned these 3-IP hosts to 3 LDs.

3-The Utilization is UIM-UI is showing as 150%.

UIM is allowing to assign resource on the broad-cast IP  i.e  - IP .3 also.

IMPACT
This results in spike of utilization percentage of the IP subnet. Like in this it shows 150%.
