Error: Mandatory Field "Entity" Must Have Entry! When Trying to Create a Class (Doc ID 3051311.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Agile Engineering Data Management (EDM) e6 when trying to create a class the following error shows up

Note that the user went through the online help > Classification > How to Create a Class in Online help document but cannot find the "Entity" field in the Class form

Error:


Mandatory Field "Entity" must have entry!


Steps to reproduce:

  1. Connect to Java Client
  2. Select Start from the menu then Classification then Classes
  3. Create a Class by clicking on the plus (+) sign then for example enter: CLS-100 for the "Class Code" field and enter: Test Class for the "Name" field
  4. Select the container check box
  5. Click to save
  6. Error : "Mandatory Field "Entity" must have an entry!" shows up
