How to Delete Unused Code Combinations or Value Set Values (Doc ID 1502393.1)

Symptoms

There is no 'Delete' button or any other option to delete accidently entered values/strings under the Manage Account Combinations or Manage Value Set.
You are only allowed to disable values that were setup incorrectly and never actually used.
Is it possible to do a mass update of the unwanted segment values?
