Why are some users seeing the message "You are not currently signed in to the Oracle BI Server" when attempting to access BI ? (Doc ID 1637423.1)

Symptoms

Please notice the version of the Product for which this Note is valid, starting with release 8 please search for rename/forget account commands.

 

 

When some users access BI either through BI Publisher or Analytics they are able to enter their login credentials and appear to be authenticated but then encounter the following error message :

 This behaviour is not affecting all users but those affected are unable to access any BI functionality.
