Error When Attempting to Modify Attribute Order

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When a user attempts to reorder attributes by selecting "Reorder" or "Update" the following error is produced:
Order numbers are not valid. Order numbers should be in form of 1,2,3... without any gaps.
