FMW 12c Infrastructure AdminServer / NodeManager Fail to Start : ORA-28001: password has expired or ORA-01017: invalid username/password; (Doc ID 1682942.1)

The AdminServer and NodeManager of an Infrastructure 12c domain are failing to start. This support article covers two possible scenarios:

Password Expired - snippet from AdminServer log

<BEA-000386> <Server subsystem failed. Reason: The loading of an OPSS
java security policy provider failed due to an exception.
Caused By:
javax.persistence.PersistenceException: Exception [EclipseLink-4002] (Eclipse
Persistence Services - 2.4.2.v20130514-5956486):
org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.DatabaseExceptionInternal Exception:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28001: the password has expired

Invalid Password - snippet from AdminServer log

The Infrastructure metadata repository schema passwords have expired or the database administrator has changed the schema passwords
