Goal

There is a requirement to post costs from Fusion Payroll to Fusion GL. The way in which the current costing is setup in the legacy system, is at an element, company and department level. Trying to replicate the same in Fusion by using 'Manage Costing of Elements'. To be able to do this, have to define a Cost Allocation Key Flexfield Structure for Payroll which has currently been created with the same number of segments as that defined for GL Cost Allocation.

However, in case of Payroll, need the additional segment which is 'Department' in order to be able to calculate costing correctly and post to the appropriate accounts.
Confirm if define the Cost Allocation Key Flexfield Structure for Payroll with a higher number of segments than what is available in the GL CoA will the seeded GL integration process work correctly?
Another consideration is that the additional field (department) will not be mapped when creating the "Manage Account Rules" or the "Manage Mapping Sets" mapping rules.
