FUSION PAYROLL (US): MA_SDIER Shows in Periodic Tax Extracts, but MA has no SDI (Doc ID 2124107.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 10, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Global Payroll Cloud Service - Version 11.1.10.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

1. The periodic tax extracts contain a tax code, MA_SDIER, which should not be calculating as MA has no SDI tax.  Changing the Calculation Components setting to "Bypass collection" did not stop the tax from continue to calculate.

Need to stop employer tax from deducting.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Setup and Maintenance
 Tax Reporting Unit: xyz
Manage Calculation Cards: Calculation Rules for Tax Reporting and Payroll Statutory Unit
  MA > State Disability: Details
Self Adjustment Method - Bypass collection

2. For MA state work from home Employees we are noticing SDI Employer Liability is being calculated. However as per vertex guide SDI ER rate is not applicable for MA state.
