Goal
The MOS document ID 1985041.1 outlines the specific steps in order to export and import setup data for any business object (such as Expenditure Types). For quick reference, following are the steps:
(a) Navigate to Setup and Maintenance
(b) Click the task 'Manage Configuration Packages'
(c) Create a configuration package and export the package and download it.
(d) Get the configuration package files out, download from FSM. This is a collection of zipped xml files, by business object.
(e) Modify the appropriate xml files with the new data you wants to import and zip it back into the config package files.
(f) Use this config package and use the standard FSM import process to import it back.
Questions:
1. Can the exported configuration package be imported into the same environment? Or is it that it should be exported from one environment and imported into another target environment?
2. While exporting the Configuration Package, is it necessary to "Select All" objects and export or we can just select the object we want to update and export? For example, "Project Expenditure Type" business object only. If so, how will it affect the import?
